They are seeking an experienced PCB Layout Engineer to join their growing engineering team in Cambridge.\n\nThe Role\n\nThis is far more than a traditional PCB CAD position. You will take ownership of PCB layout across complex, high-performance electronic systems, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams from concept through to production.\n\nYou'll play a key role in ensuring designs are optimised for performance, reliability and manufacturing, while also contributing to the continuous improvement of PCB standards, processes and libraries.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nOwn PCB layout activities across complex electronic products and subsystems\n * Translate schematics into high-quality PCB designs meeting electrical, mechanical, thermal and manufacturing requirements\n * Design for impedance control, grounding, power distribution, EMC and thermal performance\n * Support high-speed digital interfaces (e.g.

Ethernet, DDR, LVDS, PCIe, JESD204)\n * Generate fabrication, assembly and manufacturing documentation packages\n * Participate in design reviews, DFM/DFA assessments and risk reviews\n * Verify component symbols, footprints and libraries against datasheets\n * Contribute to continuous improvement of Altium libraries, templates and design standards\n * Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to resolve design challenges\n * Support prototype build, bring-up and investigation of PCB-related issuesAbout You\n\nStrong experience in PCB layout using Altium Designer and Altium 365\n * Proven experience taking designs from schematic through to manufacturing release\n * Solid understanding of stack-ups, controlled impedance, signal/power integrity, EMC and thermal design\n * Experience working across mixed-signal, digital, power and RF-supporting designs\n * Ability to interpret schematics and understand engineering intent\n * Experience creating and validating component libraries and footprints\n * Good knowledge of PCB fabrication, SMT assembly, DFM/DFA and manufacturing processes\n * High attention to detail with strong configuration control discipline\n * Comfortable working within multidisciplinary engineering teamsDesirable:\n * RF, microwave or mmWave PCB design experience\n * High-speed digital and dense multilayer PCB technologies\n * Knowledge of IPC standards and advanced materials\n * Experience with PLM systems and engineering change processes\n * Experience mentoring or developing PCB design standards\n\nWhy Apply?\n\nWork on cutting-edge RF and wireless technologies\n * Join a highly collaborative and innovative engineering environment\n * Contribute to products used in telecomms, space and defence sectors\n * Influence designs across the full product lifecycle\n * Be part of a growing organisation investing in engineering excellenceAdditional Information\n\nThis role is based onsite in Cambridge\n * Competitive salary and benefits package availableIf you're a detail-driven PCB Layout Engineer looking to work at the forefront of high-frequency technology, we'd love to hear from you.\n\nIf you receive suspicious outreach claiming to be from us, please contact us via the ManpowerGroup website
