Internal Job Title: IT Operations Analyst – Asset Management

Our IT function is using the latest Technology to deliver business benefit to Drax more quickly, improve user experience and drive operational efficiencies.

To support this strategy, we’re now recruiting a brand-new role supporting the execution and administration of our IT Asset Management and Configuration Management processes.

This role is fully flexible in terms of location – you’ll just need to be willing to travel to one of our offices (Ipswich, London, Northampton or Selby) on a regular basis, particularly in the early stages as you settle into the role.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for the maintenance of centralised IT asset inventory records and systems, as well as administering IT asset requests as part of IT Asset Management (ITAM) processes and workflows.

Day-to-day this will involve maintaining adequate stock levels of IT hardware and software assets. Using your strong organisation skills, you’ll be tracking equipment returns and licence harvesting as well as purchasing new stock. You’ll also evaluate requests for non-standard hardware and software.

In addition to maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) repositories, you’ll oversee and quality check the end-to-end Configuration Management processes where execution of these processes is carried out by other teams.

It’s an opportunity to take ownership of reporting and data governance, and shape our HAM, SAM and Configuration Management processes by identifying and addressing issues and opportunities.

About You

This is the right role if you have previous experience in IT Asset Management and/or IT Configuration Management, experience in report production and the ability to own processes and procedures. Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) tools, principles and best practices is highly beneficial.

Attention to detail, a logical mindset and strong stakeholder management skills are key to success in this role.
