Application Support Analyst

Job Description

Our IT function is using the latest Technology to deliver business benefit to Drax more quickly, improve user experience and drive operational efficiencies. 

We now have an opportunity for an Application Support Analyst to join our team.

About the Role

Day-to-day you’ll be working to ensure the availability, stability and performance of our applications. This could involve providing operational support, contributing to the design and implementation of new applications and making small-scale changes to existing ones.

Supporting both bespoke and off the shelf products, you’ll make sure that incidents are resolved within agreed SLAs and service requests are assessed and fulfilled in a timely manner.

Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude will be key, as you work to support application users at all levels of business. You’ll also have the opportunity to work closely with the wider IT function and third-party suppliers.

The team operates 24/7 on-call rota, which you’ll be joining after passing probation. An additional on-call allowance is provided.

About You

Ideally, you’ll have previous experience working in a service desk or systems administration role. With a strong commitment to customer care, you’ll have the ability to manage priorities and deliver successful outcomes in agreed timeframes.

You’ll be a keen problem solver with an analytical mindset. Specifically, you’ll have the ability to understand business processes and how these are enabled and supported through technology. This will include being able to understand the architecture of major business applications.
